Guitarist Gabriel Wareing

Originally from England, Gabriel Wareing is a NYC-based guitarist, pit musician, and educator. A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a degree in Jazz Guitar, Gabriel has performed with a wide range of acclaimed artists, including Tony Award-winning actress Frances Ruffelle and Jazz/Fusion legends Mike Stern and Lee Ritenour, both in concert and on television. These opportunities, along with early exposure on UK networks such as Sky Arts and BBC Radio, helped establish his reputation as a versatile and skilled live performer, shaping the trajectory of his career.

After completing his studies, Gabriel expanded his musical palette by immersing himself in Blues, Soul, and R&B, honing his rhythm guitar skills while embracing improvisation. Drawing on his conservatory training, he blends jazz harmony with contemporary groove-based styles, which laid the groundwork for his work in musical theater and live performance. This fusion of genres has helped Gabriel develop a distinctive voice as a guitarist, adaptable to a wide variety of musical contexts.

Gabriel has toured extensively with national productions, showcasing his versatility across multiple musical genres. Notable credits include 1776 (National Tour 2023), where he played Electric, Acoustic, Nylon Guitars, Dobro, Banjo, and Mandolin, contributing to the show’s rich, dynamic sound. He has also toured with Tootsie (1st National Tour 2021-2022), performing on Electric & Acoustic Guitars and Mandolin. These tours have allowed him to continually adapt to diverse musical demands while delivering exceptional performances.

On Broadway, Gabriel has performed in MJ: The Musical, Beetlejuice and Hell’s Kitchen. His Off-Broadway credits include Teeth, Cats: The Jellicle Ball, Titanique, I Can Get It For You Wholesale, and Between The Lines. In both Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, Gabriel’s ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of these dynamic shows enables him to contribute meaningfully to the live musical experience.
